GB MEETING OF AIBSNLREA, AMBALA BRANCH:

A general body meeting of Ambala Branch of AIBSNLREA was held on 26.2.2015 under the President ship of Shri R C Khurana. 27 members attended the meeting. Shri R. C Kalia, Asstt Branch Secretary briefed the members on the pending issues concerning the members. On the 78.2% DA merger issue w.e.f 1.1.2007 there was great resentment among the members on the delay in finalization of Cabinet Note in DOT which is being tossed in Internal Finance and Estt Section of DOT for a quite a lot time. The members desired that our GS should personally take up the matter by meeting with top management of DOT for early finalization of the Cabinet Note. The members also suggested that a coordination committee be also formed from members of different BSNL Pensioners Associations to take up the above issue at highest level and to decide the future course of agitational programme It was also pointed out that recently BSNL has decided that only local free calls as per eligibility will be allowed to BSNL pensioners. Earlier free calls were not differentiated between local and STD Calls. Due to this BSNL pensioners has started receiving huge telephone bills. It is due to interpretation of BSNL letter No. 2-7/2007 PHA dated -07-2007 regarding Concessional telephone facilities to retired BSNL employees. The members requested that GS should take up the matter with CMD BSNL for modifying the above BSNL letter as telephone facility with only local calls is meaningless in today’s scenario.
